I’m joining a Schnibbles online group for the next 12 months and our first quilt is “due” to be posted this month. I had over a month so jumped in as to not start behind in month 1. 🙂 (Plus I wanted handwork for the hotel last week so had the binding on by Wednesday afternoon!) I decided to choose the first fall charm pack I fell in love with. About 2 days later, I read Barbara Brackman’s blog post about her fabric line, Arnold’s Attic, and KNEW then I had found my fabric for Paganini!
The button to join and see all the other quilts is in my sidebar. I’m still learning but there are 2 blogs to link to and I’m with Pink Pincushion.
I chose version 4 of the pattern, Paganini. Most of the Schnibbles patterns don’t offer so many options! I liked the scalloped border. Pulling it off was another thing, but it only took 2 tries to get the pattern going.
I had no idea how I’d quilt the border and squinted to see on the pattern, it looked like a floral design. So I put a cluster of acorns & oak leaves in my border. There is a cluster in each corner and then in the center of each side. The pattern is from Joanie Zeier Poole and I’m using that for some fall table runners too. Intense quilting, but I think I like it! It is really hard to see in the border with these prints. Hopefully you’ll see it quilted on the table runners soon. 🙂
Here is the quilt straight on, it is about 36″ square.
But the real home for it is behind the aquarium.
I just love the fall blue colors in the quilt and I’m glad I chose this fabric line and the blue for the outside border. I need another wallhanging (and 1 a month!) like another hole in my head but these sure go together quickly and look great!
