I’m going to try to join in with Julie’s very fun blog and add in another journal – the Month in Numbers. Here is January from a newbie! 🙂
I just found this last night so didn’t know to pay attention to the Communal Counts.
A) New things I tried: 2
- shopping for carpet in a decorating store
- wearing a fur hat — warm, happy, proud
B) How much I paid for a loaf of bread this month: $2.99 for a regular loaf of 12-grain bread at the grocery store
My numbers:
Read 219 pages in a book – Something More by Catherine Marshall. It was published in 1974! (I’m NOT a reader so this is stunning that I’ve nearly finished one book in one month.)
I am keeping 8 journals — in my A5 Fuchsia Filofax: a Five-Year Journal, a daily farm & family life journal, 365/30 Lists (a list per day, per month), & to-do’s to Ta-Da’s! Here on my blog will be: my month in numbers that I hope to make into mixed media art journals in various forms. I also have a personal journal. On my tablet that syncs with my phone, I have a running journal of appointments, special days, menus (counting as 1 journal), and my exercise log (counting as 1 journal).
I went to the fitness center to do water aerobics only 4 times. (too much weather!)
We missed mail delivery because of snow 4 times because of too much snow.
Used 2 gallons of paint for 2 coats of paint to the ceiling in JP’s room. Installed 1 new ceiling fan & light. (cover of bulbs isn’t on yet as I think I’ll go with one step brighter bulbs)
We received 1 letter – he is on 2 lists (Dean’s list & Chancellor’s list) – for a 4.0 grade for fall of 2013! Two proud parents. 🙂
I hope you check out the Month in Numbers list that is growing on her blog. There are several fun blogs already linked in the comments section.
Great numbers – especially those last few. Nice to see you blogging again 🙂
Thanks, Missus Wookie ~ we are pretty thrilled with the last numbers too. 🙂 Good to see you back here, too. Thanks for coming by!
Welcome to month in numbers. Loving your snowy landscape luckily we haven’t had any yet!
Looking forward to seeing your numbers next month.
Thanks for finding me. We are not lovin’ all the extra snow we’ve had this year so I’m willing to send some your way!
Welcome aboard the number train Jules – you’re very welcome – and I’m glad you found me!
The Communal Count is just there for inspiration or to di[ into or share a common thread [I haven’t even done the new one for this month … so it’s definitely not a requirement!]
That snow looks beautiful … but also very powerful, so it’s no surprise to hear of the disruption it’s caused [and no wonder you needed a new hat!]
One of my favourite things about reading through everyone’s MinN posts is finding the connections and this time round there seems to have been a flurry of re-decorating. Nothing like a New Year to put you in the mood to freshen things up. I’m hoping to tackle my craft work room soon-ish [just as soon as I can face making the initial mess!]
Your debut post is now on the Month in Numbers board now where you’re in good company: http://www.pinterest.com/notesonpaper/my-month-in-numbers/
Thanks for joining me and I hope you get as much out of your memory-keeping-by-numbers as I do!
Happy February to you and yours.
Julie 🙂
Julie, I’m glad you found me and my post and link to you were OK. I think the MiN will be fun and have already been thinking of notes for this month.
Hello! I just saw your blog details on Julie’s blog and thought I’d pop over to meet you! What a great group of numbers for your first month in the project. I can’t work out where in the world you are, but that snow makes me think you are a long way from me here in the UK! No wonder you need such magnificent fur hats!
I see also that you are a quilter – I’ve just started to quilt in the last 6 months and I LOVE it! I’m just putting together my first full size bed quilt and am at the sashing stage – starting to panic now about sewing something quite so large, my previous quilts have been much smaller. I may be back for advice!
I’m glad to meet you, Deb! Thanks for coming and finding me. I’m happy you’ve found quilting. 🙂 I’ll be glad to help you with any questions you’ll have… there are others here that have had long-distance quilt coaching. You are welcome to email me — my address is on the right side bar.
Wow, congrats are in order on that last one. You must have had some bad weather this month. Congrats also on your reading, especially given that you are keeping up so many journals.
I’m glad you found me. This is turning out to be a fun group and I’m glad to meet so many new friends. Thanks for the congrats — we are quite proud of our son’s hard work when so many can’t handle the requirements… and I’m almost done with my book. 🙂
Nice to meet you :o) Some great numbers, especially those at the end. Quite a bit of sewing and fabric involved with my numbers this month, so it’s nice to find somebody else taking part who sews.
Thanks, Fiona — it is great to meet you as well. I’m happy to find another sewing friend. I’m trying to get some projects finished (as well as the room redo) so haven’t had fabric orders arriving in the mail for awhile. 🙂 Hopefully I’ll have at least one project finished to post this month.
