April in Numbers

This is how my April stacked up in numbers.  Join me in joining Julie’s Month in Numbers.

1 – Month in Numbers just totally ditched!  (March – you were a mess here!!)  Sorry, Julie!

Very few hours of sitting… it hurts to sit but I’m finally to the point that I can stand to type so that is helping.

205 – minutes of swim time at the pool.  (missed some days)

0 – days of planting crops!  Prayers needed!  Rain is great and temperatures are not-great.

1 – very old UFO quilt top finished!  It is about 90″ x 90″ and is all from scraps that I already had.  (nearly free!)  Yes, I know it sings the 80’s and 90’s but they aren’t bad all together in a pieced pattern.  The top is now all pieced waiting for my own turn on my long-arm.  🙂   I’m just fine with waiting.  I have another UFO resurrected to assemble the blocks in my off-hours.

90 – miles driven to purchase a used seed tender

1 – extra hour to pull home the seed tender!  (back roads and slow mph while pulling)

1 – used tractor purchased but not delivered yet (Friday is the last report)

100 baby pigs born.  So very thankful, especially considering how our March went in many areas.

1 book reception and the author is a friend that I met online – we don’t see each other enough!  “Invisible Illness, Visible God” — Hope is My Anchor  Great strengthening & encouraging book!

1 Easter holiday with the 2 kids and 2 in-laws here for Sunday

22 hours with K and 4 days with JP for Easter!

Easter 2014

We are so very thankful for our kids.  We love their visits and both were able to be home for Easter this year!

Phil’s parents joined us for Easter dinner and they just love hearing all the stories from the kids.

 

Yes, I know we have the sun in our eyes.  Yes, you don’t want to see my dead flower beds that have yet to awaken this year!

Fifth Sunday in March

And you noticed it isn’t March now?  Our March went out like a lion with a family emergency trip to the hospital.   She is recovering but it will be a slow comeback.  So… I left Sunday early morning for our 3rd trip in 3 days to the city… a 3 hour drive there on a good day.  I then stayed the next 2 nights with her so really I wasn’t home or thinking Sunday photo that day!!

So here we are on Wednesday.  We’ve been hitting the 40’s since Sunday so by now… the fence is finally bare!

There are still a few piles of snow on the north or east sides of banks; along the highway or our creek.  But most is finally gone!  Maybe the rain due soon will help the lawn and plants reawaken.   I did take a short walk in the city (residential area) on Monday and spotted 3 crocus leaves popping up in her courtyard where it is quite protected and not full of snow.

My month in numbers is due so hopefully I’ll be able to post again soon.
